'Scenes of The Absurd'

'Scenes of The Absurd' is an undergrad light hearted horror film about a young girl fighting her inner demons and caving in to he inabilities represented through circus themes and conflicts. As head of puppets my role in the film was to use the directors original character designs as a template for armature design work and after many alterations and drafts my designs were then sent to Malvin Armatures ,who built them. Another factor was padding out the armatures ,consulting fashion student, Talia Martin, about the fabrication process for all puppets as well as building many replacement hands for the girl and jester character and most importantly designing and building replacement faces and hair.

'Bloody Useless'

This undergrad film was directed by myself and produced by Kirsten Reed .This light hearted dark comedy focused on the question was the product of the question 'what if organs could talk ?' and explored social dynamics when conflict is introduced. Both the set and puppets were felted to achieve an unusual and 'softer' approach to the source material. I pitched the original original film idea to my peers alongside beat boards and character sheets which was green lit and after months of production it was even nominated for an RTS student award.

'Jelly Baby'

This undergrad horror film was directed by Mikhail Lushnikov and produced by Charlotte Adams-Stone. It follows the story of a hungry baby trying to make its way to a pot of jelly in the middle of the night. However it might not be what it seems. I was responsible for designing numerous props on photoshop to be 3D printed as well as hand building props such as the sink and tap, the blinds ,both windows and many more. The style was based around a crooked and angler theme with a monochrome pallet ,which I took into account while building and designing.

'Greenham Women'

This undergrad film was made in correspondence with our client 'Scary Little Girls' a feminist theoretical production hub, to educate and spread awareness of The Greenham Women Everywhere movement. This is a collection of voiced accounts in tribute to the Greenham Common protest in 1981 that involved a collection of women marching from Cardiff to the RAF base at Greenham Common in retaliation to the American government holding nuclear cruise missiles in the area .This started a 19 year protest that would see thousands more join the movement at Greenham as well as the many violent attacks made towards the women involved by the police ,armed forces and most commonly the media .My role in the production was lead of puppets as well as model making during which I experimented making my own armature for all the puppets as well as the fabrication of them.
